Former Bad Boy Rapper Outs Diddy's Business Practices
Former Bad Boy rapper Mark Curry is releasing a tell-all book about his time at the record label, according to ThisIs50.com.
In the book, which is titled Dancing With the Devil, Curry speaks on Diddy's penchant for stealing artists' shine and charge them strange fees.
"Puff has an annoying habit of inserting himself into the songs and videos of all the artists on his label and its common knowledge that many Bad Boy acts resented him for this," writes Curry. "Asked about his practice in the July 1995 issue of a magazine aimed at black teenagers, Puff said: 'I like performing with my artists. I like talking on the records and I like being in the videos. It protects my interests in terms of what I’m going to do in the future. Say if a company tries to remove me. It's going to be hard to remove me and still have my acts and [have] the same level of intensity and the same flavor and feeling'."
"Puff charged the artists for his appearance on their records and videos, usually without [them] realizing it until they receive their royalty statements," wrote the rapper, who was known for his appearance on the hit "Bad Boy for Life." "That’s when they discovered that their large sums of money had gone to fees which were doubled, tripled and even quadrupled because of Puff's 'special appearances.' He charged artists, for example, for having his Bentley in his videos-which he insisted upon- then took tax credit for business use of a car."
Dancing With the Devil is slated for a February release.

Notorious Soundtrack Goes To The Top...
By Tai Saint Louis
Matching the success of the film from which it spawned, Notorious: Music From and Inspired by the Original Motion Picture has landed atop several Billboard charts, scoring the week’s biggest debut at #4 on the Billboard 200.
The Bad Boy Records release, which was in stores three days before Notorious hit theaters, sold 43,000 copies in it’s first week of release.
The album also made it to No. 1 on the “Top Rap Albums” chart, and No. 2 on both the “Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums” and “Top Digital Albums” list as well.
A musical companion to the film capturing the rise of Brooklyn’s favorite son, the album combines Notorious B.I.G. chart toppers like “Juicy” with new music by Jay-Z, Jadakiss, Faith Evans, and even Biggie’s son CJ Wallace.
A two-disc special edition is currently on sale at Target stores nationwide, pairing the CD with a new documentary, Remembering Christopher Wallace.
The DVD features exclusive interviews with slain rap great’s family including Mrs. Voletta Wallace and the two children he left behind.

WTF? The Future Is Here....Flying Cars??

Jan. 22, 2009 -- A Boston-area company plans to begin flight tests this year of a two-seater airplane that moonlights as a car.
The aptly named Transition takes a stab at bridging the gap between automobiles and airplanes. Some people call it a flying car. The company designing and selling the vehicle prefers the term "roadable aircraft."
Either way, it boils down to this: You sit down behind the steering wheel, drive to the runway, unfold two wings and take off. You can fly 500 miles on a tank of gas -- regular unleaded -- and when you land, you simply fold up the wings and drive where you want to go. At the end of the day, you fly back, drive home and park inside your garage.
Terrafugia, of Woburn, Mass., is not the first firm to attempt what may be the ultimate hybrid.

It's a Bird, It's a Plane...It's a Flying Car
"It's probably a concept that people have been dreaming up since there have been airplanes and cars," said Dick Knapinski with the Experimental Aircraft Association, a 55-year-old aviation group based in Oshkosh, Wisc.

A company called Aerocar of Longview, Wash., debuted one of the first flying cars in 1949. The company built six prototypes, one of which is sitting in the EAA's museum, but never went into production.
Terrafugia, founded in 2006 by a group of MIT students, has taken deposits for more than 40 Transitions and plans to begin deliveries in 2010, said Richard Gersh, vice president of business development.
The vehicles sell for $194,000.
Advances in materials and propulsion technologies are among the reasons why Terrafugia is in position for commercial success. But equally important, says Knapinski, is an easing of government regulations on private aircraft and pilot licensing.

Black History Month AF1 '09 (NICEKICKS.COM)

Today, January 20th, 2009, black history was made by this being the official date of President Barack Obama’s inauguration. Therefore, it was only fitting that, today, we received an exclusive never-before-seen photo of the Nike Air Force 1 “2009 Black History Month”.
Paying tribute to Black History Month, this special Air Force 1 contains a predominately black leather upper with red contrast stitching throughout the sneaker. It also contains a red inner lining and green on the top of the tongue. Other features include laser printing, a clear outsole and a black midsole with green stitching. To add to the theme, this sneaker will be packaged in a black bag with an motivational quote printed below the 100 Year logo.
If you really like these, do not fall in love too much. This sneaker will not be released to the public, therefore, it will only be given to a select few of individuals who are active in the community and pushing the support of the Black History. What Today Means To Me....
Today is a new day, the marking of the death of an era and the birth of another. As terrible, detest, corrupt, immoral and mal that "THEY" say this world is, this world is still where and what we live in now. With that said, let's expend our energies, thoughts and efforts on correcting the wrongs and magnifying the posetive. America, the country stolen and founded for white men) is the single most powerful country in the world and today, after over 200 years of being a country, American elects it's first non- Caucasian president. Given Americas history of extreme prejudice, racism, and segregation it is a blessing to be alive to witness the maturation resulting in this turning point.
The encouragement that is provided by what transpired today is pivotal for far more than just the black community. Today, our country is finally our country. Today, our country is finally equal in terms of opportunity. The highest position in the country is finally open to the best person for the job. Today is the day of change. If for the next four years no policies have changed, no tax is lowered, and no new jobs are created, it will still remain that at least now EVERYONE has a chance. Determination combined with a undeniable hustle will result in the outcome it warrants. On this day let us be thankful for what we have and use that which we have to create what we desire.
